Glow From the Inside: My Journey to Beauty, Balance & a Better Me
Hi friends and welcome back to the blog! This week, we’re diving into the heart of something we all secretly (or not-so-secretly) think about: beauty. That word carries different meanings for different people, but for me, it’s become a personal journey—one tied deeply to health, healing, and self-acceptance.
The Beauty We Chase
How often do we catch ourselves chasing an idea of beauty we saw on a screen or heard in a passing compliment? From high school through young adulthood, I struggled with weight gain and the insecurities it brought with it. And I made a vow to myself: if there was one thing I would give my full commitment to, it would be prioritizing my physical well-being—not for the world’s approval, but to feel comfortable in my own skin.
Beauty Is Not One-Size-Fits-All
In today’s digital landscape, every blog and YouTube channel seems to offer a new recipe or product promising weight loss and glowing skin. But here's a hard truth I’ve learned: beauty is subjective. I used to receive compliments like, "You look gorgeous, you’re glowing!" often tied to my skin looking lighter or clearer. It made me reflect on how deeply external validation impacts us—and how little it should.
Food for Thought (and Skin)
Recently, I’ve been exploring what it truly means to care for myself from the inside out. Studies say a healthy gut leads to healthy skin—and honestly, it makes sense. I’ve switched up my routine to include:
- Morning meditation
- A glass of warm water with lemon
- Green tea at the office
- Fruit and veggie smoothies (the peanut butter one from @SirJuice is top-tier!)
- Hydration, hydration, hydration!
- Light meals and an intentional approach to eating
It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being consistent. One step at a time.
Juice Experiments & Skin Wisdom
Juicing has become my new playground. I love experimenting with blends that nourish and energize. And while I’m still on the hunt for my ultimate combo, that peanut butter smoothie? Total love affair. And yes, the clearer my gut feels, the more I see it on my face—who knew your lunch could be your glow-up?
The Wrap-Up: Redefining the Glow
To me, beauty isn’t about looking a certain way. It’s about feeling alive, being in tune with your body, and honoring your mental peace. It’s the glow that comes from drinking water not just for hydration—but as a ritual of self-love. It’s waking up with clarity and making choices that serve your future self.
So if you're on this path, too—welcome. You’re not alone. Let’s glow from the inside, together.
